The Highland Lake Resort now offers its guests a brand new Fitness Center for their use while visiting. The Fitness center is currently open from 9AM till 9PM each day, and provides guests with both cardio-vascular as well as strengthening equipment. Air conditioned in the summer, and heated off-season, the entire fitness center is handicap-accessible. There are also changing rooms and a restroom right beside the Center.
The Fitness Center is located in the building attached to the Conference Room and Office, with large windows offering unobstructed views of the lake. It is accessed through a door on the lake side of the building. The 24-hour vending area is in the same building, and offers bottled water, fruit juices, and soda as well as snacks and ice.
The Fitness Center features the following equipment:

- Weider Pro-4100 Two-Station Universal Gym
- NordicTrack SL700 Magnetic Resistance Stationary Bicycle
- PowerTrain Elliptical
- Nu Step Recumbent Cross Trainer
- Hand weights
- Workout mats
- Exercise ball
Guests at the Resort have been raving about our new Massage Therapy Room. Located in the same building as the Fitness Center, the Resort has several excellent Licensed Massage Therapists to cater to your needs. Been rowing or paddling all day? Want to loosen up before or after a bit of hiking? How about a great gift for a spouse or loved one to make their vacation truly memorable? Our therapists can provide Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Neuro-muscular massage for 30 minutes, a whole hour, or even longer! Rates are very affordable, too! Just $30 for a half hour and $60 for an hour. And, while tipping is NOT encouraged, many guests insist upon giving an extra "Thank You" to their therapist. And how good are they? Well, a Massage Therapy instructor from California had an hour session with Karen, our principal spa masseuse, and said it was one of the best that she had ever had!
Two other major parts of the new Spa & Fitness Center are the hot tub and the 2-person sauna. The round hot tub holds up to 4 adults, with comforting jets and a top temperature of 102 degrees. Purified through an "ozinator" and chlorine-free, the hot tub doesn't turn blond hair green or leave your body smelling like bleach! The tub is located, along with the sauna, in a room off the Fitness Center, allowing a view of the lake through its glass French Doors. The compact, all-wood sauna holds two adults. There is a wooden bucket and ladle inside to allow you to pour water over the hot rocks if you want steam.
Entry to the hot tub and sauna is through locked doors
at the rear of each changing room. Guests are
given the key to the spa and sauna so that they are ensured
exclusive use during their time.
Due to the cost of heating and chemicals, there is a modest $5 fee
for each 1/2 hour of spa usage. Reservation times are strongly suggested.
Guests need to ask at the Office for the key-code to the Health Spa & Fitness Center.
NOTE: The Health Spa & Fitness Center is exclusively for the use of Resort guests and a limited number of area members. We're sorry, but insurance rules require us to restrict use of the hot tub, sauna, and fitness equipment to people ages 16 and over.
